Buster update: he’s currently in a foster home and seeking his forever home! If you’d like to meet him, please email taylorcodogs@gmail.com to set up a time to meet this sweet boy! In his foster home, he gets along really well with the other doggies and enjoys playing with tennis balls and toys. He’s able to keep up with the middle-aged large dogs and would do well in a home with a dog of equal activity level.
Buster is an adorable, senior boy! He’s approximately 15 yrs old & 18 lbs. Buster has experienced some vision loss but it doesn’t slow him down. He had a stroke approx 6 years ago and is currently on a maintenance dose of Phenobarbital once daily. He’s had repeat lab work performed which shows it’s still safe to keep him on his low-dose meds as a safety precaution for any potential, future seizures. He was surrendered to the shelter when his owner passed away. Buster’s “sister” was adopted so he lost his kennel buddy at the shelter, but he’s currently in a foster home with larger male dogs and does very well with them! We’re hopeful to find Buster his forever home! He has not shown any signs of seizure activity since he’s been with us or while in his foster home. His seizure prevention medication is not expensive. If you have any questions about his medication, please just ask us! We’ll gladly answer any questions or concerns you may have.

FOR ADOPTERS: please contact Kelly, our Adoption Coordinator, with any questions at taylorcodogs@gmail.com or inquire directly via Petfinder. There is a link to our online ADOPTION APPLICATION on our Petfinder home page. You may also request an application via email. Paper copies are available at our shelter.
We always recommend a meet and greet with our dogs available for adoption. We are not able to assess dogs with cats since we are set up for dog intakes only. If you have cats, we advise a proper introduction while keeping the dog on leash in your home.
We are volunteer-based, so please be patient with our response time.
