Newsletter – December 2016

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from your furry friends and all the volunteers at TCHS Animal Shelter. We deeply appreciate your donations and continued support of our shelter. We would also like to send a special Thank You to all of our adopters.

During the past year we secured grant money to buy a van to help transport dogs to vet appts and rescues. We were also able to provide community assistance for spaying and neutering over 300 dogs and cats along with caring for over 200 dogs & puppies at the shelter. We are currently working on updating ceilings and insulation plus lighting and heaters in the buildings.

We always have a Christmas Wish List if you would like to donate items needed for the care of the animals and maintenance of the shelter. These include: Iams puppy food; milk bone dog biscuits; dog toys; 6 foot dog leashes; bleach; paper towels; laundry detergent; household cleaners; heavy duty brooms; hand sanitizer; fleece blankets; large bath towels; and dog or puppy shampoo. You may drop items off at the shelter on Riverside Drive during the adoption and volunteer hours listed below or anytime the gate is open. The Mountain Statesman at 914 W. Main St., Grafton , WV accepts donations for us year round between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm M-F if you cannot make it to the shelter. You may also go to Amazon.com and enter Taylor County Humane Society under Wish List search to purchase and donate items for the shelter, or click here.

Monetary donations are always appreciated to help with vaccines, vet bills, and medication, and can be sent to: TCHS, P.O. Box 4045, Grafton, WV 26354. We are a 501C3 nonprofit organization. Click on the “Donate” button to the right to donate via PayPal.

We are always in need of volunteers to help provide the daily care for the animals at the shelter. Our adoption and volunteer hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am until 12:00pm, Saturday from 9am until 1pm, and Sunday from 9:30am until 1:30pm. If you are interested in helping our homeless animals, please call the shelter at 304-265-4215. We don’t always have time to answer the phone or call back right away but we value your call.
